Dear Parish Family:                                                                         November 30, 2019

The world in which we live in is very fractured and broken. We see this in the news everyday as we are often reminded of what makes us different rather than what unites us as human beings. Yet our story of faith spelled out in the scriptures is filled with encounters of God trying to heal his broken people. Whether it’s the call of Moses to free a people broken by slavery or the prophets sent by God to ancient Israel to remind them of their need to care for the weak and the broken. They all speak of God’s desire to heal that which keeps us away from him and one another.

The most powerful statement by our God to heal his people and make them one with him is the Incarnation. It is in God becoming man in Jesus Christ that all brokenness can be overcome. The ultimate statement of healing that Jesus offers us is his willingness to take on our fractured humanity that is broken and heal all our divisions.

Please know that as we celebrate the coming Christmas season that Miriam and I are truly blessed by your efforts to bring the healing love of the “Word made flesh” to our part of the world. Your living witness of the Lord’s love truly shows us Jesus alive in our midst and strengthens our faith.

Please join us this Christmas season to be strengthen by the healing love of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We pray may the Lord Jesus heal what is broken in your life.

“And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” John 1:14
